IOP Treatment in Lehigh Valley, PA

Intensive Outpatient Program Easton PA

Intensive Outpatient Program in Pennsylvania

The first thing to know about an intensive outpatient program, or IOP, is that it’s a step down from PHP and a step up from standard outpatient care

The word “intensive” can seem intimidating, but this program does not hold you hostage. IOPs are flexible and allow you to live at home outside of treatment hours.

Recovery Cove’s IOP provides treatment several days a week, with both day and evening hours available to accommodate work, school, and other responsibilities.

Benefits of Our Lehigh Valley IOP

Intensive Outpatient Programs offer several benefits, making them a valuable option for individuals seeking treatment and rehabilitation. These benefits include:

  • Intensive treatment with flexibility. IOPs provide a structured and intensive level of care with the flexibility to return home each day, allowing you to continue fulfilling personal responsibilities.
  • Comprehensive therapeutic approaches. Our IOP offers a wide range of therapies, including individual counseling, group therapy, family therapy, and psychoeducational classes, which address the physical, emotional, and social aspects of addiction.
  • Peer support. Being in an IOP allows clients to connect with others facing similar challenges. This peer support is important for recovery, as it provides opportunities to share experiences, offer encouragement, and build a support network.
  • Skill development. These programs emphasize developing coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and healthier lifestyle choices. Clients learn practical skills for managing stress, avoiding triggers, and maintaining sobriety in real-world settings.
  • Cost-effectiveness. An IOP can be a more affordable option than traditional inpatient programs and allow patients the opportunity to apply the coping skills learned in therapy to real-world situations.
  • Family involvement. Many IOPs encourage or include family participation in the treatment process. Family therapy sessions and educational programs help build a supportive environment at home, which is crucial for long-term recovery.

FAQs About Our IOP Program in Lehigh Valley

Does IOP Include Detox Services?

An IOP does not offer detox services. Detox is a short-term intervention that helps people through the immediate symptoms of withdrawal, which is typically completed prior to beginning a treatment program. If you believe a detox program would be the right start for you, contact our team for more information.

What Happens During IOP?

Clients will learn about the root causes of substance use, such as mental illness, social anxiety, low self-esteem, or childhood trauma. Many who engage in substance use are trying to escape from some type of emotional pain, and this pain must be recognized and healed from. Individual and group therapy remain critical components of IOP.

Clients also have access to holistic therapies at Recovery Cove, such as yoga, exercise, mindfulness, and art therapy. These are excellent tools that support a healthy recovery and also help individuals find new ways to cope.

Is Medication Management Offered?

Many clients who participate in our IOP are on medication. Our doctor will administer medications such as suboxone or Vivitrol to help manage withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Being on the right medications allows individuals in recovery to focus on their learning and growth without having to worry about symptoms of withdrawal or powerful cravings getting in the way of their progress.

How Long Does Your IOP Program Last?

The average IOP lasts 60-90 days or more, depending on how the individual is progressing and whether they are ready to step down to a lower level of care. Our program is very flexible and never rushed. Once you successfully complete IOP, we can support you in stepping down to a lower level of care – our standard outpatient program.

Where Do I Live During IOP?

IOPs are outpatient programs where participants live at home outside of treatment hours. “Home” can be anything, though, so you’ll have to decide the healthiest living environment for you. Many people can live with their family because it’s a safe place with plenty of support. But some may choose to rent their own place, move in with another family member, or stay in a sober living home.

Where Is Your IOP Program Located?

Recovery Cove is located at 2005 Fairview Ave in Easton, Pennsylvania. Our dedicated team of professionals serves patients across the Lehigh Valley area.
